2015 Event Schedule

The 10th Annual Display of over 1,300 United States' Flags

Events are free.  Donations are gratefully welcomed.  

June 27 - July 6, 2015

Saturday, June 27

    • 6:00 a.m. -- Flag display setup  by volunteers, stop by to help and meet your neighbors. ( Volunteers -- please park in southwest section of the lot to allow space for vendors & shoppers.  Check-in at Volunteer Table.  Work gloves and sturdy shoes are highly recommended. )
    • 7:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. -- Merriam Farmers' Market
Sunday, June 28
  • Opening remarks by Merriam's Mayor Ken Sissom
  • Please bring your own lawn chairs
  • Ice cream, water, and sodas available for purchase from Kansas City Ice Cream

Tuesday, June 30
    •  11:00 a.m through 2:00 p.m. --TRUCK TUESDAY  (Area food trucks accept cash or debit/credit cards; vendors will make a donation from proceeds of food purchased to support Flags 4 Freedom.)
 Wednesday, July 1
    • 4:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. -- Merriam Farmers' Market
Saturday, July 4
    • 7:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m. --  Merriam Farmers' Market
  • Remarks by Merriam's  Mayor Ken Sissom
  • Concert by the 45 members of the American Legion Band of Greater Kansas City 
  • Fresh & Tasty Catering -- food and beverages for purchase from 12:30 until concert's end.
  • Please bring your own lawn chairs -- we'll have some chairs under the Marketplace pavilion, but we're expecting this concert to be so well attended, we may run out!

Monday, July 6
    • 4:00 p.m. -- Flag display take-down -- flags taken down and stored by volunteers.   (Volunteers -- work gloves and sturdy shoes are highly recommended.)
