Thanks to all our volunteers, sponsors, musicians, and the dedicated F4F committee for the Sixth Annual Flags 4 Freedom flag display and celebrations!  Although the flags are neatly rolled up and tucked away, remember to appreciate and celebrate all those who serve -- defending our freedom and keeping us safe at home!

Saturday, June 25

  • 6:00 a.m. -- Flag displays set-up by volunteers, stop by to help and to meet your neighbors
  • 7:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. -- Merriam Farmers' Market
  • 9:30 a.m. -- Opening Ceremony
  • 10:00 a.m. -- Ragtime Piano by John Sankey; Music at the Marketplace -- sponsored by the Merriam Parks and Recreation Department

Friday, July 1

  • 6:30-8:30 p.m. FREE Concert** -- The Blue and Gray Brass Brigade (Marches & Band Music)
    • Bring your own chairs!
    • Music at the Marketplace Friday Night Series; sponsored by the Merriam Parks, Recreation and Community Center Foundation

Saturday, July 2

  • 7:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m. -- Merriam Farmers' Market
  • 10:00 a.m. -- Barbershop Quartet (vocal standards); Music at the Marketplace -- sponsored by the Merriam Parks and Recreation Department

Sunday, July 3

  • DAY OF REFLECTION.  We invite you to walk through the fields remembering all those who have served and those who are currently serving our country.  Please remember their families as well.

 Monday, July 4

  • 11:00 a.m. Picnic in the park
    • Hurricane Allie's, Merriam  -- will sell pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, trimmings, and drinks.
    • OR you're welcome to bring your own picnic fixin's.
  • 2:00 p.m. -- Wherever you are, join citizens across the nation in singing the National Anthem, more information at Of Thee We Sing
Tuesday, July 5
  • 6:30 p.m. -- Flag displays will be taken down and stored by volunteers; stop by after work to help in the "cool" of the evening!
